When you just get tired.....
I am giving myself permission to say the same thing, but differently.
Hey there. It’s been a minute. Actually, this year has felt like decades, but I digress. I haven’t been here for a while because it just felt like I was talking into the void. Not because of you, my dear readers, but because it just felt like a lot. Sometimes you need space. And sometimes you need a pivot to move forward.
I have been in the beauty industry for almost 30 years. I have loved being behind the chair, adjacent to it, in the classroom teaching…I’ve worn many a hat in this space. Even when it gets tough, I can’t ever really quit it. It was my first career, and like a first love, there is a special place it holds that no one else can have. And what I’ve found is that, like any other areas I’m in, including coaching or public speaking, I still operate from the same center.
It’s a beautiful thing when the ethics and values that guide you through life cross platforms. I care about the same things no matter what I’m doing, so my desire to talk to you about the beauty industry and how it intersects with those values is easy. As a cosmetology educator, I have these conversations on almost a daily basis with my students. My career has been long, and I still have a whole lot more to go. But my commitment to sharing what I’ve learned is what has me sharing these notes over at Pretty Progress.
